Transport Options

Sydney Transport uses free smartcard tickets (Opal Card), to load funds for use on trains, busses, ferries and light rail. They are available at major transport hubs such as Central Station / Circular Quay and can be topped up in a range of convenient locations such as newsagents, convenience stores and other retailers.

The Transport NSW website has timetable information and trip planning features to help you navigate Sydney and beyond. www.transportnsw.info

Buses

A regular bus service (389) runs from Pyrmont along Harris St to King St in the CBD before heading through Paddington to Bondi Junction and North Bondi. The bus stop is located on the corner of John and Harris St on the opposite side of the road to The Terminus Hotel. A less regular service (501) goes from the Fish Market up Miller St, along Harris St to Railway Square (Central Station), where you can take further connections.

Ferry

Ferries depart Pyrmont Bay (opposite Star City next to the Maritime Museum) to Circular Quay. This is a lovely way to see Sydney Harbour up close!

Light Rail

There is a light rail stop at John Street Square (steps / lift access) that goes to Central Station (inbound), or to the inner west suburb of Dulwich Hill (outbound).

Trains

You can access Central Station by light rail or 501 bus disembarking at Railway Square. You can access Town Hall station by 389 bus disembarking at King St and a short walk.

Taxis and Uber

Pyrmont is generally well serviced for Uber drivers. Additionally there are multiple taxi companies operating in Sydney.
